Blessed Carlo Acutis │ The Millennial Saint

  

Quite by accident I discovered Blessed Carlo Acutis.  Here is his story: Blessed Carlo Acutis was born on May 3, 1991 in London, United Kingdom, and died on October 12, 2006 (aged 15), Monza, Italy.  His cause of death was acute promyelocytic leukemia.  He was Beatified by Pope Francis on October 10, 2020, two days before the 14th anniversary of his death.  He is on track to becoming a saint in the Roman Catholic Church.  Carlo is the first saint to be buried in Nike sneakers, jeans, and a North Sails track suit jacket.  He is presented as a role model for youth, a saint of the ordinary, and also a possible patron saint for IT workers.  As a side note, Carlo loved the PlayStation.  "Carlo puts flesh on what a saint who plays video games and goes on the internet looks like."  Carlo, has been dubbed “the Millennial Saint” and “the patron of the Internet".  Below are some interesting videos of him.  It is interesting that there is a live feed from the chapel where his coffin is.  People can view him through a glass window in the side of his coffin. There is a link below for that. "The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951)", is probably the greatest Sci-Fi movie ever made, but somehow, it has been lost from our collective consciousness.  But even fewer people know, that it was actually a thinly disguised story of the life of Jesus Christ, or you might say, a parable of the life of Christ.  The name that Klaatu takes when he assumes the identity of a civilian is Major Carpenter.  Jesus was a carpenter.  There is a boy who stars in the movie Bobby (played by Billy Gray), who gets close to Klaatu.  In the New Testament, it is John the Apostle, who was a teenager at the time that Christ lived, who also was a close companion to him.  At the end of the movie, Klaatu rises from the dead and ascends into the heavens, much as Christ did on the Mount Of Olives.  These are just a few examples of the parallels between Klaatu and Jesus Christ.  There are many more subliminal clues in the film.  Much has been made of the cryptic phrase  "Klaatu Barada Nikto".  That is the command that Klaatu gives to Bobby's mother Helen, to say to Gort (who is St. Michael the Archangel, the avenging angel), in the event that he dies.  The phrase will stop Gort from destroying the earth.  By-the-way, it is Billy Gray's excellent performance as Bobby that makes the movie so believable.  Michael Rennie, the late British actor, gave an outstanding performance as the other-worldly Klaatu.  Robert Wise was the director of "The Day The Earth Stood Still", and  he later went on to direct such cinematic blockbusters as "West Side Story" and "The Sound Of Music".  In 2008, a remake of "The Day The Earth Stood Still" was released, but it certainly did not have the emotional and mystical impact of the original.  Klaatu Barada Nikto to all the fans of Angel Watchers, wherever you may be.

Marcelo Otaño is a very talented young singer, actor, model, and dancer from Puerto Rico.  He is 13 years old.  I discovered him quite by accident today as I was cruising on YouTube.  In fact, I found him performing on a musical presentation that was produced by the Neomed Medical Centers in Puerto Rico.  What struck me most about him, besides his singing, was his beautiful smile, and engaging personality.  He is truly living beautifully in the moment.  In the video below he is singing "Ya Llega La Navidad (Christmas Is Coming)" with Osvaldo Suyas.  You are in for a musical, and visual treat.  Safe journeys to all the fans of Angel Watchers, wherever you may be.

Bobby Driscoll │ The Greatest Child Star Of Them All

 

Robert Cletus "Bobby" Driscoll was born on March 3, 1937, and had an untimely death on March 30, 1968 in New York City.  He was 31 years old.  Bobby is buried in an unmarked grave in Potter's Field, Hart Island, New York.

Sir Nazir Ahmed Bulbul Dancing "Kary Kary" With Shahid Din (Shaideen)

In the video below, the esteemed Sir Nazir Ahmed Bulbul, is dancing to the music of "Kary Kary (Sometime)", with a student named Shahid Din (Shaideen).  Sir Nazir Ahmed Bulbul is the headmaster of the excellent Al-Amyn Model School located in Gulmit Gojal, Hunza, which is part of Gilgit Baltistan (Pakistan). Notice the joy in the eyes of the dancers.  The dancers are having a good time. They are actually dancing in the courtyard in front of the school.  It is really cool that the headmaster can get down and boogie with a student! The boy dancers in the videos below are students from the Al-Amyn Model School, Gulmit Gojal, Hunza, which is part of Gilgit Baltistan (Pakistan).  It was filmed in the courtyard in front of the school.  It is an excellent private school, and the headmaster is the esteemed Sir Nazir Ahmed Bulbul, who is a noted poet, composer, and scholar.  The "Kary Kary (Sometimes)" song was performed by Salman Paras who is from Gilgit Baltistan.  Needless to say "Kary Kary (Sometimes)" is a monster hit in Gilgit Baltistan.  Safe journeys to all the fans of Angel Watchers, wherever you may be.

Kamahaʻo Haumea-Thronas, a falsetto specialist, is a 7th grader at Kamehameha Schools, Kapālama, Oahu.  Kamahaʻo has worked on music videos, live events, and recordings.  He has a lot videos on YouTube, and other social media platforms.  In the videos below he sings "Nani Wai'ale'ale" (Beautiful Mount Wai'ale'ale), and "Ali’i No ‘Oe" (You Are A Chief).  Safe journeys to all the fans of Angel Watchers, wherever you may be.

Walker Campbell is an astonishing new singer who is based in Memphis, Tennessee.  His latest single is called "Creep", which is a Radiohead cover.  I'm not ashamed to say it, but "Creep" always brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it.  I've always been an outsider, so I can really relate to this song. This has to be one of the most magnificent figure skating routines ever produced. We are all so lucky, because Nikolay Kolesnikov shares with all of us, his magical skating talents. The music that Kolya uses in this routine is the exquisite "Méditation from Thaïs for Violin and Piano", composed by Jules Massenet.  Safe journeys to all the fans of Angel Watchers, wherever you may be. 

The Deus Machine │ Pierre Ouellette

 

In this edition of Angel Watchers, I am featuring what is probably the most exciting techno-thriller that was ever published.  It's called "The Deus Machine" written by Pierre Ouellette.  Below is a review of the book that was featured in Publishers Weekly:

" In the year 2005, in the midst of an unprecedented economic depression that has ruined the country and brought the government to the edge of collapse, a renegade genius programs a supercomputer with an artificial intelligence (DEUS) that perpetually reinvents itself--and thereby comes "to life." But when crooked government insiders intent on making profits through chemical warfare use DEUS for their research, the machine, attempting suicide, spawns an unbelievably terrifying array of mutant life forms that begin to run wild over the earth. It's then up to an unlikely threesome--computer programmer Michael Riley, his lover, biomedical engineer Jessica and their young friend Jimi--to save DEUS (and the world) from the bloodthirsty and perpetually mutating horde.
